What the data says
An overview of the public data behind STRL.
At $456.10, Sterling trades in the lower half of a 52-week band that runs from $270.00 to $1,005.68 — a range in which the high is nearly four times the low. A spread that wide over a single year describes a stock that has repriced dramatically in both directions rather than one that has held a settled level, and the current close sits well below the top of that band while remaining meaningfully above the bottom of it.
Against roughly $13.9 billion of market capitalization, the shares carry a trailing price/earnings ratio of about 32.7 and a forward multiple of about 17.9 — a gap that reflects expectations of considerably higher earnings ahead rather than a change in the current earnings base. The price/book ratio near 10.2 means the market is valuing the business far above the accounting value of its assets, which is common for firms where earnings power rather than balance-sheet scale drives the number. The company converts about 12.5% of revenue into profit, and revenue has grown roughly 90% year over year. A beta near 1.89 places the stock's historical movement well above that of the broad market, amplifying index moves in both directions — consistent with the width of the 52-week range.
Recent coverage is a mix of company-specific and sector-level items. The most recent piece, from early September, notes the stock fell about 15.8% following its last earnings report; earlier summer articles discussed the share price's trajectory and momentum directly. Alongside these sit broader market stories in which Sterling appears as one name among many — small-cap ETF comparisons, commentary on the Russell 2000's performance and AI-related demand, and weekly market movers lists. Taken together, the flow is roughly balanced between reporting on the company itself and on the small-cap and infrastructure-adjacent themes it sits within.
