What the data says
An overview of the public data behind PWR.
Quanta closed at \$667.36, sitting in the upper stretch of a 52-week band that runs from \$363.01 to \$788.75. That range is unusually wide — the high is more than double the low — so the past year has involved large swings rather than a steady drift, and the current price sits well above the bottom of that band while still some distance below the peak. A beta of 1.22 fits that picture: the stock has tended to move somewhat more than the broad market in both directions.
At roughly \$102 billion in market capitalization, the market is paying about 78 times trailing earnings and about 36 times forward earnings — a gap that reflects expectations of substantially higher earnings ahead rather than what the trailing period produced. The price-to-book ratio near 11 points the same way. Underneath those multiples, the business runs on thin margins: a profit margin of about 4% means very little of each revenue dollar reaches the bottom line, which is characteristic of contracting work. Revenue growth of about 41% is the counterweight to those figures, showing the top line expanding quickly even as the margin stays slim. The dividend yield is negligible at 0.07%, so essentially none of the return profile here comes from income.
The recent news flow is mostly sector-level rather than company-specific. Headlines from May through July 2026 group Quanta with other industrials and infrastructure names in stories about AI capital spending crossing \$1 trillion, the data center building boom, and energy stocks generally — coverage where the company appears as one example within a theme. Two items are directly about the company: a late-May report on grid modernization and electrification supporting a backlog of nearly \$50 billion, and a May 22 announcement of a quarterly cash dividend alongside a new \$1 billion stock repurchase program.
