What the data says
An overview of the public data behind ROAD.
At $91.90, the stock is trading close to the floor of its 52-week range, just above the $88.73 low and roughly 39% below the $151.00 high set within the same twelve months. That is an unusually wide band — the high is about 70% above the low — so the past year has involved a substantial round trip rather than a steady drift, and the current price places it near the bottom of that span.
The market values the business at about $5.2 billion, or roughly 37.5 times trailing earnings and 5.0 times book value, while the forward multiple of 23.7 is considerably lower — a gap that reflects expectations of higher earnings ahead rather than anything already reported. Profitability on the income statement is thin in percentage terms: a 4.1% net margin means most of each revenue dollar goes to costs, which is characteristic of the contracting and materials work the company does. Revenue, meanwhile, grew 28.2%, so the scale of the business has been expanding faster than the margin on it. A beta of 0.90 means the shares have historically moved slightly less than the broad market rather than amplifying it.
Recent headlines split between company-specific developments and broader market coverage. The two most recent items are directly about the company: an expansion of its asphalt operations through an Oklahoma deal in September 2026, and a comparison piece weighing it against another building-products name on valuation. That extends a pattern visible further back, including a 2024 acquisition of a North Carolina paving business, pointing to news flow shaped by deal activity. The remainder of the list — pieces on market breadth and AI leadership, dual listings on a new Texas exchange, consumer confidence and inflation expectations, and another company's quarterly results — is general market and sector coverage that mentions the stock only in passing.
