What the data says
An overview of the public data behind GVA.
At $128.32, Granite trades in the upper-middle of a 52-week band that runs from $97.26 to $162.08 — roughly 32% above the low and about 21% below the high. That span is wide relative to the current price, covering a range of more than 60% from bottom to top over the past year, so the stock has not been a quiet one. A beta of 1.34 fits that picture, with shares historically moving somewhat more than the broad market in both directions.
The market is capitalizing the business at about $5.6 billion, or roughly 15.9 times forward earnings and 7.4 times book value. Those two figures point in different directions: the forward multiple is priced off expected earnings, while the trailing profitability record shows a negative net margin of about 3.3%, meaning the company has been running a bottom-line loss over the trailing period despite revenue growth near 29%. Put together, the pricing rests on expected earnings rather than realized ones, and the high multiple of book value reflects a valuation set well above the accounting value of the company's assets. The dividend is a minor part of the total, at a yield well under one percent.
The recent news flow is thin on Granite itself. The newest items, from February 2026, are institutional-position stories about unrelated companies, and other headlines cover sector-adjacent names in construction and building products alongside a road construction and maintenance industry report looking out to 2030. The most recent company-specific item in this set is considerably older — a 2024 note on a bridge removal and replacement project. On this data, coverage is running through the wider infrastructure and engineering sector rather than through developments at the company.
