What the data says
An overview of the public data behind DBD.
Diebold Nixdorf closed at $69.94, sitting roughly in the middle-to-upper portion of a 52-week band that runs from $54.48 to $92.085. That's a wide range — the high is about 69% above the low — so the stock has covered a lot of ground over the past year rather than settling into a narrow, quiet channel. The current price is well off the top of that range and comfortably above the bottom of it.
At around $2.37 billion in market capitalization, the shares trade at roughly 23 times trailing earnings but about 10 times forward earnings, a gap that reflects a market expecting meaningfully higher earnings ahead than the trailing twelve months delivered. Price-to-book sits near 2.45. The profitability figures behind those multiples are thin: a net profit margin of about 2.9% and revenue growth of roughly 1.7%, so the business is converting a small slice of a slowly growing top line into profit. A beta of 1.17 puts the stock modestly more volatile than the broader market — it tends to amplify market moves in both directions rather than move independently of them.
The recent news flow is more about the sector than the company. Most of the headlines are third-party market-research reports on the categories Diebold Nixdorf operates in — self-checkout systems, retail automation, ATM managed services, cash handling devices, and hotel self check-in kiosks — where the company appears as one named participant among several. Only two items are company-specific: a Q2 report noting revenue up 3%, and an older piece on the stock outperforming a market advance. Coverage, in other words, has been light on company-level developments and weighted toward the growth outlook for the wider self-service and automation markets.
