What the data says

An overview of the public data behind INTC.

At $89.47, Intel trades roughly 37% below its 52-week high of $142.35 while sitting almost four times its 52-week low of $23.68. A band that wide over a single year — the high is six times the low — describes a stock that has been repriced dramatically rather than one that has drifted, and a beta of 2.24 says it has moved with the broader market at more than twice the market's amplitude.

The market is currently paying about $473 billion for the business and roughly 5.2 times book value, against a forward price-to-earnings ratio near 43.9. Those multiples sit alongside a profit margin of -19.8%, meaning the company is not currently profitable on a trailing basis, so the forward multiple reflects earnings the market expects rather than earnings already reported. Revenue growth of 25.4% is the other half of that picture: the top line is expanding quickly while the bottom line remains negative.

Recent coverage is more sector story than company story. Of the last eight headlines, only two name Intel directly — one on a single-session decline relative to the broader market, another on a hedge fund taking positions in Intel and Broadcom. The rest concern Nvidia's competitive position, an analyst upgrade on AMD, and the power-generation side of AI infrastructure, which places most of the current news flow around Intel's peers and the wider semiconductor and AI-buildout narrative rather than around developments at the company itself.
