What the data says

An overview of the public data behind OKTA.

Okta trades at $134.42, roughly 21% below its 52-week high of $171.41 but more than double its 52-week low of $62.66. That spread — the high sits at nearly triple the low — describes a stock that has been repriced substantially over the past year rather than one that has drifted in a narrow band, and the current level sits closer to the upper end of that journey than the lower.

The market values the business at about $29.6 billion, or roughly 124 times trailing earnings and 4.3 times book value. Forward earnings are priced at about 39 times, a gap that reflects expectations of considerably higher earnings ahead than the trailing period delivered. Underneath those multiples, the company converts about 8.2% of revenue into profit and is growing revenue at roughly 11.2% year over year — a profitable business, though with margins thinner than the trailing multiple alone might imply. A beta of 0.76 indicates the shares have historically moved less sharply than the broader market in both directions.

The news flow splits between company-specific and sector-wide coverage. The company-specific items cluster in late May 2026, when Okta reported first-quarter results and forward guidance that were followed by a share climb and a new 52-week high, with a further Okta-focused headline in mid-August. The remainder is wider infrastructure-software and cybersecurity coverage — Palo Alto Networks, AI cybersecurity market commentary, and large-cap technology roundups in which Okta appeared alongside Dell and Snowflake — so a meaningful share of the recent attention reflects conditions across the security and enterprise software sector rather than developments at this company alone.
