What the data says

An overview of the public data behind DHR.

Danaher closed at $218.85, roughly 36% above its 52-week low of $160.93 and about 10% below the $242.80 high. That places the stock in the upper third of its yearly range, but the range itself is wide — a spread of more than $80, or about half the low — so shares have covered a lot of ground over the past year rather than settling into a narrow band.

At a $153.8 billion market capitalization, the stock trades at about 39 times trailing earnings and roughly 24 times forward estimates. That gap between the two multiples reflects expectations of higher earnings ahead; on the trailing figure alone, the market is paying a premium to current profits. Price to book sits near 2.9. The underlying business converts about 15.9% of revenue into profit, with revenue growing 5.5%, and it returns a modest 0.73% dividend yield. A beta of 0.80 means the shares have historically moved less than the broader market, both on the way up and on the way down.

Recent headlines split between the company and its industry. Most items are third-party market-sizing reports on the fields Danaher operates in — biochemistry analyzers, molecular biology reagents, spatial genomics, laboratory equipment services — which mention the sector rather than the company's own results. The company-specific coverage from late June and July centers on a decline in the share price this year and on the Masimo acquisition, alongside sector news such as Merck KGaA's cash offer for Bio-Techne. Notably, none of the recent flow concerns earnings releases or company guidance.
