About Axsome Therapeutics, Inc
Axsome Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company based in New York City that develops and commercializes treatments for central nervous system disorders. Incorporated in 2012, it markets three approved products in the United States: Auvelity (dextromethorphan-bupropion) for major depressive disorder in adults, Sunosi (solriamfetol) for excessive daytime sleepiness associated with narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea, and Symbravo (meloxicam and rizatriptan) for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura. The company also maintains a clinical-stage pipeline built largely around reformulating and repurposing known compounds. Programs include AXS-05, the dextromethorphan-bupropion combination, studied for Alzheimer's disease agitation and smoking cessation; AXS-12 (reboxetine) for narcolepsy; AXS-14 (esreboxetine) for fibromyalgia; and additional trials of solriamfetol in indications such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, major depressive disorder, binge eating disorder, and excessive sleepiness related to shift work disorder. Axsome has a research collaboration with Duke University covering the evaluation of AXS-05 in smoking cessation.
