What the data says
An overview of the public data behind ASML.
ASML trades at $1,763.76, closer to the upper end of a 52-week band that runs from $716.20 to $1,999.96. That range is unusually wide — the high sits at roughly 2.8 times the low — so the past year has involved a very large move rather than a stock holding a narrow channel, and the current price sits well above the bottom of that band while still short of the peak.
The market values the business at about $677 billion, or roughly 60 times trailing earnings and 29 times forward earnings. The gap between those two multiples reflects expectations of substantially higher earnings ahead, consistent with revenue growth of about 21% over the trailing period. Underlying profitability is high, with a net margin near 30%, and the dividend yield of about 0.51% means the return profile here rests on earnings rather than income. A beta of 1.37 indicates the shares have moved more sharply than the broad market in both directions.
Recent coverage divides between company-specific items and wider sector themes. The company-specific thread includes a reported new competitive threat out of China and a head-to-head comparison with TSMC framed around long-term ownership. The broader thread is about the semiconductor and AI capital-equipment cycle — equipment makers versus chip designers, and a billionaire investor's positioning in chip stocks — alongside several pieces where ASML appears mainly as a large holding inside international and developed-market ETFs rather than as the subject.
